Fremantle Seaweed's Asparagopsis is a native Australian red seaweed grown in Western Australian waters for use as a feed supplement, whole or as an extract. Its bioactive compound bromoform inhibits an enzyme in methane-producing gut microbes, and CSIRO found it can reduce ruminant methane by more than 80%. Commercial supply is targeted for 2027.
