Gearbox-free robotic arms with direct-drive transverse-flux motors designed for high-fidelity robot learning.
Vassar Robotics builds robotic arms using gearbox-free transverse-flux motors that deliver torque directly at the joint, eliminating backlash, stiction, and gear wear artifacts from training data. The first bench prototype targets 3 N·m at 60 mm diameter and 500 RPM, with physics clean enough for faithful simulation and zero-shot sim-to-real transfer. Ships with firmware, drivers, a torque-level API, and simulation-ready models. Vassar Robotics is a product of Vassar Robotics.
