The Recurse Center is an educational retreat where programmers spend 6 or 12 weeks working on self-directed coding projects alongside a batch of roughly 30 peers from diverse backgrounds. There is no tuition; the organization generates revenue by running an integrated recruiting agency that places interested alumni in jobs at partner companies. Core hours run 11am–5pm in a two-floor Brooklyn space (also available remotely), with structured events like Impossible Stuff Day, Half-Baked Demos, and a Pairing Jam.
