High-DOF direct-drive robotic hand and matched data-collection device designed to eliminate the embodiment gap for dexterous manipulation training.
Origami Robotics builds a high-degree-of-freedom, direct-drive robotic hand and a mechanically identical hand-based data-collection device, eliminating the embodiment gap between data collection and real-world deployment. The design addresses the Dexterity Deadlock caused by high-ratio gearboxes that hinder sim-to-real transfer and reduce force transparency. The system-level approach spans sensing, control, and physical evaluation, converting robot rollouts into reproducible training data. Origami targets manufacturing and logistics environments for large-scale real-world data collection to train general-purpose manipulation models. Origami Robotics is a product of Origami Robotics.
