NistuFe (compound KYLK01) is Keylika's lead drug candidate for iron deficiency anemia—a small-molecule iron compound delivered via a self-administrable skin patch that enables direct absorption into the bloodstream, bypassing the GI tract. It aims to combine the efficacy of IV iron with the convenience of oral iron while avoiding the adverse effects of both. The compound has demonstrated proof-of-concept in-vivo in rats with excellent iron uptake and correction of iron deficiency without systemic toxicity.
