About
Mailcheap is a self-hosted newsletter app built as a small Next.js project that sends through your own Amazon SES account, so you pay per email sent (about $0.10 per 1,000 emails) rather than per subscriber. It includes an editor with live email preview, multiple newsletters per install, signup forms and a signup API, confirmed opt-in, bounce and complaint handling with a shared suppression list, one-click unsubscribe, open and click tracking, stats and a public web archive. Indie maker Marc Lou released it on GitHub in October 2026 as a one-time open-source release with no support; users are expected to fork and deploy it themselves.
