Epicenter provides a local-first data substrate — a single directory of plain text and SQLite databases — that multiple apps share without cloud lock-in or proprietary formats. Built-in tools include Whispering (fast transcription supporting local and cloud models) and epicenter.sh (a local OpenCode instance with secure tunneling). Data stays on your disk, optional cloud sync uses an open-source self-hostable server, and interoperability extends to Obsidian, VS Code, Git, grep, and any AI model via your own API key. Epicenter is a product of Epicenter.
