Captain is a fully managed file search platform that ingests files from object storage and cloud drives (S3, SharePoint, Google Drive), indexes them across text, documents, and video, and exposes a single query API with metadata filters, semantic ratio tuning, and reranking. Its eval loop (Captain Evals via MCP) generates Q&A evals from the customer's own files, scores retrieval, and tunes toward a target accuracy or latency.
