U.S. chemistry CRO combining expert chemists, AI and robotics to make and test molecules for drug discovery
Warp Sciences is a San Francisco company building a U.S.-based preclinical chemistry contract research organization (CRO) for biotech and pharma teams. It brings expert chemists, AI and robotics together to make and test the research compounds drug discovery teams need, in labs built for increasing automation so experimental data can train better scientific AI. Warp has no drug pipeline of its own. It was co-founded by Kevin Weil (CEO, formerly Chief Product Officer and VP of Science at OpenAI), DJ Patil (COO, first U.S. Chief Data Scientist), Sol Reisberg (CSO, medicinal chemist, co-founder of Terremoto Biosciences) and Manohar Paluri (CTO, FAIR co-founder and former VP at Meta Superintelligence Labs). On October 22, 2026 it emerged from stealth with $215 million in funding led by Lightspeed, with Premji Invest, Mayfield, IVP, Lux, Menlo Ventures and others participating.
