Perfusion platforms that keep living human tissue and organoids viable for real-time drug discovery research
Vitroscope is a Norwegian biotech company based in Trondheim that develops perfusion platforms for studying immune activity, treatment responses and disease mechanisms in living human tissue. Its benchtop system, vitro.alive, combines programmable perfusion, real-time control of oxygen, pH and temperature, and live-cell imaging in a well-plate footprint with six independent channels, and works with standard inverted microscopes and a browser-based experiment interface. A higher-throughput platform, vitro.scale, is planned for launch in 2028. In November 2026 Vitroscope raised $7 million: a $5 million seed round co-led by Cerberus Ventures and YZR Capital plus $2 million in non-dilutive funding from the Research Council of Norway.
