Traceable shea and agro-commodity supply chains built with women farmers in West Africa
Vitara (formerly Sommalife) is a Ghanaian agritech company that partners with women small-scale farmers in West Africa to supply traceable, high-quality shea and other agro-commodities to global food and cosmetic manufacturers. It digitises farmer engagements through its TreeSyt traceability platform, invests in rural communities through pre-financing, training and climate-smart agriculture, and connects producers directly to international buyers. In November 2026 Vitara announced €1.8 million (about $2 million) in equity investment from AgriFI, Acumen and angel investors to strengthen its technology and expand its producer network.
