Viridian Ingni Propulsion (VIP Propulsion) is a Chennai-based deeptech startup incubated at IIT Madras Research Park that designs and validates complete electric propulsion systems, building the motor, controller and firmware in-house and delivering them as a single validated unit. Its rare-earth-free ferrite PMa-SynRM motors target e-rickshaws, two-wheelers, HVAC systems, compressors and solar pumps, while its permanent magnet synchronous motors are aimed at drones, collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles and marine uses. Its first listed product is a 48V L3 e-rickshaw motor. The company was founded in February 2024 by CEO Sriram G. In October 2026 it raised ₹1.47 crore in a pre-seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures, alongside ₹53.75 lakh in grants from programmes including SIPCOT, MeitY Startup Hub, NIDHI PRAYAS, IIT Madras Research Park's RTBI and Cummins CSR, to move from validated prototypes to pilot production.
