Modular plants turning renewable power and CO2 into pipeline-ready e-methane
TURN2X is a Munich-based climate tech company that produces renewable natural gas (e-methane) from renewable electricity and biogenic CO2. Green hydrogen from electrolysis reacts with CO2 in TURN2X's patented honeycomb methanation reactor, designed for fast load changes so plants can follow wind and solar availability; the resulting gas is chemically identical to fossil natural gas and can use existing pipelines and equipment. The company builds modular units that can sit at biogas sites, and its first commercial plant in Miajadas, Spain, sells its full output under long-term offtake contracts. Founded in 2022 by Philip Kessler (CEO), Dominik Schollenberger (CTO) and Benedikt Stolz (COO), building on methanation research at KIT, TURN2X raised a roughly EUR 20M Series A led by Antwerpen Ventures with LEA Partners, First Momentum Ventures and Verve Ventures (announced autumn 2026).
