Traversal builds AI agents for enterprise site reliability engineering that help engineering teams diagnose, remediate and prevent production incidents. Its Production World Model and Causal Search Engine give AI a continuously updated understanding of production systems, their dependencies and the root causes of incidents, and its Workers can start investigations automatically when alerts fire. It is available on the web and in Slack, Microsoft Teams and coding tools via MCP. Founded by causal machine learning researchers from MIT, Berkeley, Cornell and Columbia and based in New York, Traversal emerged from stealth in June 2025 with $48 million led by Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins. In November 2026 it raised $120 million at a $1 billion valuation, co-led by Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures, bringing total funding to $173 million. Customers include Nubank, Harvey, PepsiCo and DigitalOcean.
