About
Thrixel is a Chicago-based AI 3D creation platform that generates editable 3D models from text and images with individually named, hierarchically organised parts, so assets can be assembled, animated, swapped and manipulated by code or AI agents. It works in the browser and with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor via an MCP server, and targets Unity, Unreal, Roblox and physical-AI simulation pipelines. Thrixel was founded by Rana Hanocka, a University of Chicago computer science professor and 3D deep learning researcher. It announced a $3M inception round backed by Sierra Ventures, MFV Partners, Harper Court Ventures and Z5 Capital alongside its public launch in October 2026.
