AI-native intelligence platform that helps colleges and universities act on their own data
Straia is a San Francisco company building an AI-native business intelligence platform for higher education. Its intelligence layer sits on top of a college's existing systems, such as student information, learning management and CRM tools, learns how each institution defines its data and programs, and lets administrators ask questions in plain English to get insights and reports. It also offers Ask Straia, a free tool for exploring public higher education data and benchmarking against peers. Founded in 2025 by Ryan Lau, Gautam Narasimhan and Nikki Dansey, it announced a 3.1 million dollar seed round led by a16z Speedrun in October 2026, bringing total funding to 4.5 million dollars.
