Making quantum computers programmable for every developer with basic Python skills
RhymeQ is a quantum software startup based in Karlsruhe, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. Its product Rhyme is an abstraction layer that lets developers write familiar, Python-style code while RhymeQ's compiler translates it for quantum computers, with no hardware lock-in. Rhyme compiles to the NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform, so the same code can run on GPU-accelerated simulators and on quantum processors from several providers. It was co-founded in 2026 by CEO Daniel Volz, previously a Kipu Quantum co-founder, CTO Tamas Varga, the inventor of Rhyme, and COO Christina Wu. It came out of stealth at NVIDIA GTC Berlin in October 2026 with a 2.2 million dollar pre-seed round led by Ground State Ventures, with Vanagon Ventures, Plug and Play and Freiraum Ventures participating.
