Recycles waste concrete into low-carbon cement replacement and aggregates
R2Crete is a Melbourne-based engineering startup and University of Melbourne research spinout developing a process to recycle waste concrete into supplementary cementitious material (SCM) and high-quality recycled aggregates for new concrete, reducing landfill and the emissions tied to cement. In October 2026 Startup Daily reported a $750,000 pre-seed from the university's Genesis Pre-Seed Fund and Uniseed to build a pilot plant and run industry trials. Founders named in coverage are Dr Tuan Nguyen and Warren Overton.
