Machine-learning software that automates tuning and control of quantum computers
QuantrolOx is a University of Oxford spinout, now headquartered in Espoo, Finland, that builds hardware-agnostic machine-learning software to automate the bring-up, characterization, calibration and tuning of quantum computers, a process that otherwise depends on scarce specialist engineers. Founded in 2021 by CEO Vishal Chatrath, Professor Andrew Briggs, Dr Natalia Ares and Dominic Lennon, its offerings include the Quantum EDGE measurement and automation platform, Quantum EDGE Academy for quantum hardware training, and VIDYAQAR, an open-architecture superconducting quantum system for education, research and benchmarking. It has entities in Finland, the UK, the Netherlands and India and opened a Berkeley office in 2026. In October 2026 it raised a EUR 12 million Series A led by IW Capital with the European Innovation Council Fund and Transpose Capital.
