Kiwi-owned open banking payments and data infrastructure for New Zealand
Qippay is an Auckland fintech building open banking infrastructure for New Zealand: pay-by-bank payments, enduring-consent recurring payments and open banking data for merchants and platforms. Accredited under MBIE's open banking framework with no screen-scraping, it has bilateral integrations with major NZ banks (BNZ, Westpac, ASB, ANZ). Products include Qip PayBy for one-off eCommerce payments, Qip SetPay for recurring 'auto-pay' collections, Qip AnyPay and hosted/embedded options. Founded in 2021 by Ashley Lake-Johns (CEO) and Wayne Deas and based at GridAKL, Qippay raised NZ$5M in October 2026 with Australia's All Roads Wholesale Fund taking a 25% stake, and is exploring Australian expansion via the Consumer Data Right.
