Medtech developing PercStoma, a needle-based minimally invasive alternative to surgical ostomy
Phantom GI is a Tel Aviv-based medical device company, founded in 2025 by Dr. Eran Shlomovitz, Dr. Eliyahu Bechor and CEO Ido Sadan, developing PercStoma: a patent-pending device designed to create an ostomy through a single needle puncture under local anaesthesia and X-ray guidance, positioning a proprietary stent between bowel and skin instead of conventional surgery. It initially targets patients with malignant bowel obstruction who are not candidates for surgery. PercStoma is investigational and not approved; the company plans first clinical studies. In October 2026 it announced an initial $5M seed round led by Pitango HealthTech with RAD BioMed and RUNI Ventures.
