About
PataBid is a Calgary company that builds AI estimating software for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection contractors. Its cloud platform Quantify uses symbol recognition and natural language processing to automate takeoff, pulls real-time pricing through direct supplier integrations and lets contractors order materials, turning drawings into a priced estimate in hours instead of days. It is also developing Newton, a conversational AI estimating agent now in beta. Founded by estimator and developer Melvin Newman, PataBid says more than 200 contractors use Quantify. In October 2026 it raised a 2 million dollar pre-seed round led by Graphite Ventures.
