Solid refrigerant cooling systems that are non-flammable and PFAS-free
Pascal is a Watertown, Massachusetts company founded in 2023 out of Professor Jarad Mason's research group at Harvard University. It develops low-pressure solid refrigerant systems as an alternative to the hydrofluorocarbon gases used in conventional vapor-compression cooling, aimed at refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps and industrial cooling. In October 2026 it announced an additional $8.5M in venture funding co-led by Sazze Partners and LB Investment with KDB Silicon Valley, plus $839K in grants, bringing total funding to $17.3M, to support an initial pilot deployment with a multinational beverage manufacturer. Co-founders include CEO Adam Slavney and CTO Jinyoung Seo.
