Mesh-grid technology for last-mile solar electrification
Okra Solar builds mesh-grid technology that lets energy developers deploy last-mile electrification projects where traditional grids, mini-grids or solar home systems are not viable. Its mesh-grids link solar-and-battery households so power is shared across a community, and its product line includes the Sprout hub unit, the low-cost Leaf household unit, the OkraNet billing and monitoring network, and complete mesh-grid kits. The company reports more than 40,000 people energized across 120+ communities. In October 2026 British International Investment committed a $7M facility to fund bulk procurement for about 150,000 new mesh-grid connections in Nigeria.
