AI digital pathology tools for H&E and IHC tissue slides
Octopath AI is a UCL spinout building AI tools that work alongside pathologists to analyse routine H&E and immunohistochemistry (IHC) tissue slides, with foundation models and products for cell detection, mitosis detection, immune scoring and biomarker scoring. It was founded by Dr Zhuoyan Shen, Dr Charles-Antoine Collins Fekete and Dr Esther Bär of UCL's Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. On November 2, 2026 it launched with £1.5 million in seed investment led by TwinPath Ventures plus a matched £500,000 Innovate UK Growth Catalyst grant, and it is one of seven companies in the MHRA's AI Airlock Phase 2.
