Braunschweig maker of the NOVUS One, a lightweight carbon-frame electric lightbike for city riding
NOVUS GmbH is a mobility company based in Braunschweig, Germany, founded in 2019 by former Volkswagen designer René Renger (CEO), with Hannes A. H. Krieger as Chief Strategy Officer. It builds the NOVUS One, a lightweight electric two-wheeler with a self-supporting carbon frame and hub-mounted drivetrain that sits between an e-bike, a scooter and a motorcycle, with no clutch or gears. It began delivering to European customers in spring 2026 and manufactures in Braunschweig. In October 2026 Tech.eu reported that NOVUS closed a double-digit million euro round led by 468 Capital to scale production, expand across Europe, develop a lower-priced NOVUS Two and launch in California in late 2027.
