Physics-enabled digital twin of power and infrastructure networks for utilities
Neara is a Sydney-founded software company that builds a physics-enabled digital twin: a geometrically accurate 3D model of entire infrastructure networks with engineering-grade analysis of each asset. Utilities use it to predict failures and reduce outages, manage wildfire and vegetation risk, move from time-based to risk-driven maintenance, quantify risk and value trade-offs, and design new builds, with customers in Australia, the US (including California) and Ireland. It was valued at $1.1 billion after a Series D in February 2026. On October 15, 2026 it acquired Zepben, an Australian CIM-based electrical network modelling company, to combine physical, electrical and risk modelling for grid constraint forecasting, planned outage management, capacity checks and network model management.
