AI-native materials R&D: atomic-level property prediction plus robotic autonomous labs
NanoForge AI is a Seoul-based startup founded in 2025 that describes itself as an AI-native materials IP company. Its AI models predict interatomic forces and energies to estimate material properties such as thermal expansion and ion mobility in batteries, and it is developing electronic-structure prediction and a robot-based autonomous laboratory where experimental results feed back into AI training. It works with battery materials maker EcoPro BM. On October 30, 2026 it announced a KRW 14.6 billion seed round led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment, with FuturePlay, Mashup Ventures, DSC Investment, Korea Development Bank and EcoPro Partners participating.
