About

MuRay (Mu-Ray Tech) is a Hamburg-based deeptech company developing Active Muon Imaging, which uses a controlled muon beam to produce high-resolution 3D images of the inside of dense metal, ceramic and composite components non-destructively and in minutes. Its first focus is quality assurance for safety-critical parts such as 3D-printed rocket engines and gas turbine components, with space, aerospace, defence, energy and cargo-security uses being explored. Founded by co-CEOs Dr Andi Hektor and Dr Kristjan Poder, it announced EUR 7.1 million in October 2026: a EUR 3.5 million private round led by First Momentum Ventures and co-led by Caelora, plus EUR 3.6 million in public funding including Horizon Europe, and plans a first industrial imaging service in 2027.
