Moonshot AI is a Beijing-based artificial intelligence company that builds large language models and the Kimi family of products. Its flagship Kimi K3 model, released in July 2026, is described by the company as a natively multimodal, 2.8-trillion-parameter model with a 1M-token context window built for long-horizon coding, knowledge work and deep reasoning. Moonshot offers the Kimi consumer assistant on web, desktop, mobile and as a Chrome extension, the Kimi API platform for developers, and Kimi Code, a coding agent and CLI, and it publishes research and open model weights. The company was founded in 2023. In July 2026 Bloomberg reported it raised $3.5 billion at a $35 billion valuation, and in October 2026 Bloomberg reported it had closed a final private round at about a $50 billion valuation and is preparing a Hong Kong IPO targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
