London AI company pursuing a compute-efficient, verifiable approach to machine reasoning
Metis Reasoning is a London-based AI company launched in October 2026 by Thore Graepel, a former Google DeepMind research lead and AlphaGo co-creator, with co-founders Piers Ingram, Michael Warren and David Berman. It is developing a new approach to generalizable machine reasoning that it argues is more verifiable and robust than current large language models, aimed at high-stakes problems in science, engineering, robotics and other fields. The company has published a white paper, The Age of Reasoning.
