Full-stack nuclear fusion company building fuel-cycle, isotope and reactor technology
Marathon Fusion is a San Francisco company founded in 2023 to develop the tritium fuel systems fusion power plants need to operate at commercial scale. It is now building a full fusion stack, including a high power density beam-driven fusion reactor, tritium fuel-cycle processing, lithium enrichment, fusion-grade materials testing, and isotope co-production such as Actinium-225 for radiopharmaceuticals and stable gold from mercury-198 in the reactor blanket. The company says it has secured over $18M in funding from the US Department of Energy and investors. Leadership includes CEO Kyle Schiller, CTO Adam Rutkowski and CSO Jason Parisi.
