About

Longshot Space Technology is an Alameda, California company building reusable ground-based acceleration infrastructure — multi-injection gas guns that move launch energy and hardware onto the ground — for high-cadence hypersonic testing today and low-cost cargo access to orbit in the future. Founded by CEO Mike Grace and CTO Nato Saichek, it has fired a 6-inch accelerator to Mach 4.2 more than 100 times and is building larger 29/30-inch systems at Barstow and the Alameda Point former naval air base. It holds U.S. Air Force/AFRL and Missile Defense Agency work and targets an eventual $50/kg launch cost. TechCrunch reported in October 2026 that it has raised about $20 million from venture investors; it is a 2026 TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield Top 20 company.
