Remote-control and supervised-autonomy systems that turn logging skidders into robo-skidders
Kodama Systems builds physical AI for forestry. Its RS1 system retrofits logging skidders for remote control and supervised autonomy, so machines handle repeatable tasks while experienced operators remotely manage complex work, and it also offers skidding services to loggers. The company's technology is deployed in commercial plantation timber operations across the southeastern United States. Merritt Jenkins is co-founder and CEO. In October 2026 Kodama raised 7 million US dollars co-led by Konvoy Ventures and Breakwater Ventures, bringing total funding to 14 million US dollars, according to The Robot Report.
