About

Kapta Space is a Seattle startup building spaceborne radar sensors based on its proprietary Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) architecture, aimed at high-resolution geospatial imagery and persistent tracking of moving targets across air, sea and land at constellation scale, without the cost, power demands and manufacturing complexity of traditional radar. It was founded in 2023 by CEO Milton Perque and Adam Bily, both former engineering leaders at radar maker Echodyne. In October 2026 it announced a $24M Series A led by Washington Harbour Partners and co-led by Bison Ventures, with MetaVC Partners, MYDA Capital, Entrada Ventures, Aurelia Foundry and Fitz Gate Ventures, bringing total funding to $30M; it says the money will expand manufacturing, qualify hardware for spaceflight and prepare initial orbital demonstrations (per GeekWire and the company's release).
