Inworld AI is a Mountain View, California realtime voice AI research lab founded in 2021 by Kylan Gibbs (CEO, previously led LLM product at Google DeepMind), Ilya Gelfenbeyn and Michael Ermolenko, whose team built Dialogflow. It provides realtime text-to-speech, speech-to-text, speech-to-speech and LLM inference for consumer applications such as companions, tutors, coaches, games and media, and says its fleet serves tens of trillions of tokens a month. On 14 October 2026 it opened Inworld Inference, an OpenAI-compatible inference API for open models tuned for consumer apps, and in September 2026 it announced the acquisition of Ultravox. Inworld has raised more than $125 million from investors including Lightspeed, Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, CRV, Microsoft M12, Meta and Intel Capital.
