Building Locus, an autonomous AI R&D system that runs and iterates on experiments
Intology is automating R&D. Its system Locus formulates experiment ideas, executes several experiments in parallel on purpose-built infrastructure, and samples new experiments based on evaluation feedback. Intology has published results applying Locus to language model post-training, ML research engineering and, in November 2026, molecular discovery tasks (molecular property prediction, small-molecule potency prediction with Boltz-2, and antibody design workflows), where it reports outperforming expert baselines and generalist coding agents under matched compute. Performance figures are company-reported.
