Enzyme biocatalysts replacing precious-metal catalysts in chemical hydrogenation
HydRegen is a University of Oxford spinout commercialising enzyme-based biocatalyst technology for hydrogenation reactions in pharmaceutical, specialty and bulk chemical manufacturing. Its slot-in products are designed to replace heavy-metal catalysts and fit existing batch or continuous-flow infrastructure. In October 2026 it announced an $8M (£6M) Series A first close led by Genoa Ventures, with Clean Growth Fund and First Imagine! Ventures participating.
