Data movement governance at the kernel
Hilt is a cybersecurity startup that governs how data moves across cloud infrastructure, SaaS, endpoints and AI agents. A metadata-only collector watches data movement at the kernel, resolves each move to a real identity and job, detects anomalous movement such as exfiltration on permitted access, and can isolate the host at the network, running single-tenant in the customer's own cloud. Co-founded by William Cielen (CEO) and Alex Genest (CTO), with founding engineer Zin Bitar; the team is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In October 2026 it emerged from stealth with a $4.2M seed round led by Array Ventures, bringing total funding to $4.7M.
