Industrializing composites: automated factories that mass-produce carbon-fiber structures for drones and aerospace
Helicon Industries is a Los Angeles company building automated factories to industrialize carbon-fiber composites, starting with drone airframes. Its Argos software automates engineering, mold design and production planning, while robots handle layup, extraction and trimming. Founded in 2026 by Alex Niehaus and Edmundo Sanz-Gadea, it is ramping production in Torrance, California, and announced a $16.5 million seed round led by AlleyCorp.
