Scalable, automated cell-processing platform for cell and gene therapy manufacturing
Geney Bio is developing a scalable cell-processing platform designed to reduce the time, cost and risk of taking advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapies from process development to commercial-scale manufacturing. The platform, still under development, aims to cut process redevelopment and tech-transfer work as programmes scale, automate repetitive handling in a closed system, and use low-volume processing to reduce expensive reagent consumption; the company reports proof-of-concept testing that used about 50% less viral vector than a well-plate control with similar GFP expression. It targets therapy developers, translational and process development centres, and CDMOs. Geney Bio is in UNSW Founders' 2026 10x Accelerator (Health 10x) cohort, which each received a A$100,000 pre-seed investment.
