Distributed game studio building a social roleplaying shared fantasy world
Gardens Interactive is a distributed, Los Angeles-based video game studio formed by developers of games including Journey, What Remains of Edith Finch, Sky: Children of the Light, Blaseball, Dustforce, Guild Wars 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. Its unrevealed debut title is a social roleplaying 'strandbox', a shared fantasy adventure where players cross paths in a shapeshifting wilderness. In October 2026 it announced $35M+ in Series B funding led by Lightspeed with Index Ventures, Accel, Innovation Endeavors, Zenith Capital, Bayshore and others, bringing total funding to over $70M; its 2023 Series A was co-led by Lightspeed and Krafton (per the studio and GamesBeat).
