AI, computer vision and robotics for smarter waste sorting and food waste reduction
Ganiga is an Italian company founded in the province of Pisa by Nicolas Zeoli. It builds Hoooly AI smart bins that use computer vision and robotics to identify and sort waste, and has sold more than 300 devices to airports, shopping centres and large businesses in Italy, Japan, Australia and other European countries. Its newer HooolyFood system uses cameras above waste containers to identify discarded food without weighing, helping caterers spot waste and improve purchasing and menu planning; it already runs in operations serving more than 30,000 meals a day. A data platform brings device data into one dashboard for waste patterns, costs and fill levels. In October 2026 Ganiga raised €2.5 million to grow its teams and expand HooolyFood, starting in contract catering alongside Vivenda.
