About

Furientis is a US defense startup that designs and manufactures interceptor missiles built from day one for high-rate production, assembling them from readily available components so each unit costs a fraction of legacy interceptors. Founded in early 2025 by Brody Franzen, previously deputy chief engineer at Virgin Galactic and an engineer at Castelion, and Aris Simsarian, who led rocket engine testing at Virgin Orbit, it works from a facility in Los Angeles and runs trial launches at White Sands, New Mexico. Furientis has a funded Pentagon contract to build mid-range interceptors. In October 2026 it raised a $25 million seed round led by Benchmark, following a $5 million pre-seed announced in May 2026, per TechCrunch.
