Source-backed business directory and company verification for AI assistants.
FirmLedger is a public business ledger operated from Nairobi, Kenya. It publishes canonical, source-backed profiles of companies, startups, agencies, organizations, products, services and publishers — with field-level provenance, confidence scoring, ownership verification, and a relationship graph. The directory is free to browse with no account. A free account (email, Google, or LinkedIn) lets you submit records, claim a business you own, edit your own records, post jobs, and use the Pro API. The platform exposes its data through three surfaces: 1. A public web directory at firmledger.co.ke — free, no account needed. 2. A REST API v1 included with Pro, with API-key authentication, scopes, and signed webhooks. 3. An MCP server at https://mcp.firmledger.co.ke/mcp that connects the directory to AI assistants. The MCP server has 49 tools across four tiers: read-only directory lookups, reads of the caller's own account, account changes requiring explicit confirmation, and checkout links that never charge. It supports two authentication paths — API key (Bearer header or personal connector URL) and OAuth 2.1 with Dynamic Client Registration and PKCE (S256). It follows the website's permission model exactly: what is Pro-only on a profile page is Pro-only through the connector.
