Thermal energy storage that turns renewable electricity into on-demand high-temperature industrial heat
Epyr is a Paris-based climate-tech company that electrifies industrial heat with thermal energy storage: during cheap renewable hours it heats refractory bricks with electric resistors, then releases high-temperature heat as air or steam when a plant needs it. It offers turnkey Heat-as-a-Service covering technology, integration, energy management and financing. Its first unit at WEPA Group's Troyes paper mill, commissioned in under six months, supplies up to 25% of the site's steam; a 35 MWh project at Papeco's Orval-sur-Sienne site is planned to replace that site's natural gas use. Cofounded by Léa Dardenne and Bastien Oggeri. On 13 October 2026 it announced a €15 million Series A led by SlateVC with AENU, Daphni, WEPA Ventures, OVNI Capital and Aurum Impact.
