Force-based robot intelligence: a Vision-Force-Action model and force-sensitive gripper for dexterous manipulation
Eka Robotics is a Cambridge, Massachusetts robotics company co-founded by MIT professor Pulkit Agrawal and former Google DeepMind researcher Tuomas Haarnoja. It builds a Vision-Force-Action (VFA) foundation model paired with a force-sensitive robotic gripper, aiming to make robots general, fast and safe at dexterous manipulation by reasoning about force rather than vision alone. In October 2026 TechCrunch reported Eka closed a $150 million Series A co-led by a16z and F-Prime at a $1.45 billion post-money valuation.
