Miniaturized CRISPR gene editing workflows for primary cells
DropGenie is a Montreal and Boston biotechnology company that miniaturizes gene editing workflows on a digital microfluidics chip. Its platform runs high-throughput CRISPR edits directly on primary patient cells while using far fewer cells and reagents than conventional methods, aiming to lower costs and speed up turnaround for cell therapy, functional genomics and AI-driven discovery. Its seed+ round was led by Skeleton Key with Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, CQDM, Real Ventures and Anges Québec, and BDC Capital's Thrive Fund later joined, bringing the round to US$5M.
