Orbital data centers and launch vehicles for AI compute
Cowboy Space Corporation, founded in 2024 as Aetherflux by Robinhood co-founder Baiju Bhatt, is a San Carlos, California company building vertically integrated infrastructure to power and run AI compute in orbit: solar-powered satellites, a purpose-built launch vehicle and space-rated compute payloads. In October 2026 it unveiled Big Iron, an 86-meter reusable rocket whose upper stage is designed to stay in orbit as a megawatt-class data center, along with the Big Iron Express commercial launch program; first flight is targeted for 2028. It raised a $275M Series B at a $2B valuation led by Index Ventures in May 2026.
