Concretene is a University of Manchester spin-out that makes a graphene-based admixture for grouts, mortars and concrete, which it says improves performance by 15–30% so producers can cut cement content and embodied carbon at cost-neutral pricing. It has been used on more than 300 cubic metres of construction projects and in October 2026 announced a £4.5 million first close of its Series A including PXN Ventures, LocalGlobe and Molten Ventures.
